Music and cognitive development links

I have had an obsession with cognitive science since I was old enough to think about how the brain works. The earliest hypothesis I had about the brain and memory was back in 3rd grade. I speculated that the brains memory worked like a Xerox machine, making copies of a memory each time a person tried to retrieve it. This made remembering something easier the more often you remembered it but also subject to degradation. Needless to say, this is not how memory works but I was proud of my little hypothesis back then. In the end I ended up going to school for music and not cognitive science but I never lost my passion for it. Here I’ll be posting links to various articles and research I find interesting and/or helpful to me or anyone else who cares to investigate.

Enjoy!
